“My one consistent observation from my professional experiences is that young people who get in trouble with the law typically have challenges with writing and reading comprehension. The symptoms are the behavioral problems, but some of the root causes for behavior include lack of emotional support, inadequate mental health services, and poor functional, moral and cultural literacies”, says Mrs. Chase.
Mrs. Chase has developed community programs that have been successfully funded by Americorps, YouthBuild, and various state departments.
“I want to live in a world where our kids are creating economic and social opportunities that better themselves and their community. They already generate economic activities that too often lead to negative outcomes. I believe with the right preparation and winning habits, even the sky is no limit. It’s just one of their many frontiers.”
